Supernatural Cleveland Day 2 Recap

I woke up on Saturday, and my voice was half gone because of karaoke last night. It wasn’t sore, but my voice was pretty low and raspy. We got breakfast and then my dad drove us over to the convention center, again very thankful for him doing that. The first thing on the schedule for that day was a welcome with Rob, and we sat down in our seats. There was a bit more people today then there was on Friday. It would have been a lot more if Misha was appearing today but he had to move to Sunday for scheduling and work I guess. The ladies of supernatural panel was after the welcome, and this was one of the things that I was looking forward to the most; because it’s a bunch of badass, inspiring, strong, women talking and answering questions and going off topic sometimes but all in good fun. It was Kim, Briana, Ruth, and Rachel, who I all love; but I love all the females on supernatural. Their panel was amazing, so inspiring and full of goodness and laughs, it was also very emotional towards the end with Kim talking about being a mother and her daughter. I would highly, highly recommend going and watching it on YouTube or somewhere. I didn’t want to ask a question for their panel because I just wanted to fully immerse myself in what they were saying and talking about.

After the ladies panel, there was a no-minimum bid auction being run by Creation Entertainment. A lot of fandom merch from supernatural as well as other fandoms. Items like t-shirts, signed pictures, mugs, hats, were being sold. Some banners were sold and artwork where the proceeds went to Random Acts. I didn’t bid very much or high because these items go extremely high and is way out of my price range. Especially after getting the tickets for the con. There was a package of autographed pictures getting auctioned off and the first one was a Millie Bobby Brown one, who is Eleven on Stranger Things. I kind of perked up for that because I like Stranger Things, it’s a good show, but that was the only one and there was a couple other random ones that I didn’t. My mom, bless her heart, thought it was mostly Stranger Things in the bundle of them. So she bid on them and won for $60. I appreciated her doing it though. Then, someone from the rows behind us said that her and her daughter really liked one of the actors in it and how her daughter kind of ditched her to go to another convention. So, we gave her the autographed picture because we didn’t know who it was and she really loved him, so we thought why not.

Afterwards, my mom left to go to the washroom and they were going to play the winner of the music video contest. And as soon as I heard the first couple of beats, I immediately started to have a mini freak out inside. The song was “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” from Mulan, and that is one of my favourite Disney songs. It was a really good video, I liked it. Next, we had our Matt op, my mom wanted to meet him and so did I, so we split one. I found a photo op in the Facebook group that I recreated I guess, and it turned out really good. My mom got to hug Matt and I got a good laugh out of it. After Matt ops, we went to go buy a Ruth autograph because she has a table in the vendors room where you can either buy the autograph only package or an autograph and selfie package which is the one that I got. We were rushing down from our Matt photo op and got there when the last person in line was up. She signed her chapter in Family Don’t End With Blood, and I said that I really liked her character. When she was coming around to take the selfie, I held my phone up and it was kind of low at like face level and Ruth said to tilt it up dear. So I just gave her my phone to do it because I am terrible at taking selfies. The first two came out blurry but the last one was good. I think I’m kind of laughing in it, not entirely sure. Then she gave me my phone back and I said Thank you. We were going to go get something to eat but Matt and Rob’s panel was on and I wanted to get a picture for my journal.

I was just gonna pop in and take a couple of picture and then go. But when I walked in Rob was starting to tell the story about the time he went snowboarding or skiing, and yesterday during Jason’s panel he asked if one of us could ask Rob to tell the story and I wanted to hear what it was about. Afterwards, we were going to walk to a subway but we couldn’t find it so we walked around and found a pizza company place which had good food. Then we walked back to the convention center and as we got there, there was a big group of people in the back of the vendors room. I asked someone what was going on and they said it was

Louden Swain autographs, but first it was the vendors room jam. I was excited for this and wasn’t exactly sure how it worked so it was pretty lucky that we came at the right time. They had to introduce David and Adam first and then they all came out and started playing. They played Trigger Finger, Pop Tart Heart, and Medicated, which are two of my favourite Louden Swain songs. It was really fun, and coot to watch. During the vendors room jam was David-Haydn Jones and Adam Fergus’ 2nd panel of the weekend. As we were going into the auditorium, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and it was a good friend that I met through twitter. It was so amazing to see her, I had never met an online friend before and she has been a friend almost right from when I first joined the SPNFamily. Afterwards we went into the auditorium and watched Adam and David’s panel. It was really fun, Adam and David are funny and they work really well with each other which makes it fun to watch.

That was the last panel of the day, then there was autographs and the Saturday Night Special. We got some food for dinner and then came back to get autographs with Matt, Mark, and Alex with our silver passes. Matt was first and he signed his chapter in Family Don’t End With Blood and I told him that he did a great job hosting karaoke last night, and he said thank you. Then we went to Mark and he signed my hunters journal. Finally, we went to Alex and his line was really long and my mom and I had tickets for the jewelry making workshop with Jodi who owns Eldwenne’s Fantasy. They let us go at the front of the line and everyone else with a ticket because it was getting too close to the workshop starting. Alex signed my hunters journal and I asked him if Jared, Jensen, and Misha were kicking his butt; because he posted a meme like picture on twitter of someone getting kicked by a bunch of people and he put “S14” on the people kicking and “me” on the person getting kicked. Alex said yes and that the whole Road So Far or gag reel should be him getting beat up. That was all the autographs we had for the day. Then my mom and I went to the jewelry with Jodi workshop.

It was a very fun and exciting experience making my very own jewelry for the first time. The theme of the jewelry was angel wings because of it being a Giving Back Tour stop headlined by Misha Collins. It was really cool to work with the different wires and tools. We got to hammer the wire to keep the design shape, that was fun. Then we used the thinner wire to do any kind of designs we wanted with or without beads. I just started playing with the wire and then added some beads to it and I really like how it turned out. Jodi was an amazing teacher and she makes incredibly beautiful jewelry. My mom and I had a really good time and we were talking with the other people at our table. Almost everyone at the table got poked or hit by the materials that we called ourselves the #TableOfDoom. It was a very memorable experience and I’m really glad we did it.

The last thing of the day was the Saturday Night Special. By the time we finished our jewelry making workshop it was really close to them opening the doors to the auditorium for the concert. We went up to a sitting area in the hotel part of the convention center and charged our phones and had a snack. Then we went and lined up for the concert and I saw in the Facebook group for the convention that someone was giving out red glowsticks for the concert in honour of Rob’s 5th anniversary since he had and survived his stroke. They also gave us a card explaining what it was for and what to do when “Amazing” and “She Waits” starts playing. When they let us into the auditorium, my mom and I went to our seats that we had during the day, because if you had a gold, silver, or copper weekend pass, you got access to the concert and you get to keep your seats from the day. The concert started

and it was great to see Rob and the band, Louden Swain, perform live; along with all the actors and Jason Manns. When “Amazing” and “She Waits” started, the audience was filled with the red lights and it looked beautiful . Rob looked really touched by the gesture and I am really happy and grateful that I was there and that I got to experience it. Then the concert ended and my dad came and picked us up. And that was the end of my Day 2 at Supernatural Cleveland 2018.
