People Who Inspire Me: Lynn Zubernis

This is the second post in my new series about People Who Inspire Me. For this one I am going to be talking about why Lynn Zubernis inspires me. Lynn Zubernis is a psychologist who teaches classes at a university and is also an author of who has written many books like, Family Don’t End With Blood, Fangasm: Supernatural Fangirls, Supernatural Psychology, and a few other ones. She is kind, smart, helpful, hardworking, supportive, friendly, exciting, creative, and a tremendous writer.

Lynn inspires me because of the kind of person that she is. She is very interactive with people online and at conventions. The first time that I met Lynn was at the Creation Entertainment Supernatural convention in Toronto last year. Before the con, I asked Lynn on twitter if she was going to be attending the con on Sunday because that was the only day that I was able to attend myself. After I tweeted that Lynn responded much faster than I thought she would, I didn’t expect her to respond to me at all. But she did and she said that she was going to be there on Sunday, just not as a vendor. I appreciated her responding to me so much because normally when I ask popular people on twitter something they don’t usually respond and I understand why. Because of Lynn responding to my tweet I was able to: find her at the con, try to talk to her but I was incredibly shy, I was able to ask for her to sign her chapter in Family Don’t End With Blood which she did, and thanks to my mom get a picture with Lynn as well. This experience with Lynn made my time at my very first Supernatural convention 100x better. She was incredibly sweet and kind to little shy, quiet me and my mother and it was so great meeting her because she is a huge inspiration in my life, which is why I’m writing this.

Not only was she kind to me but also many other people who meet her. Another time that Lynn was interactive on twitter with me was when I was writing a book review for her book Family Don’t End With Blood. I had a question for her about some information regarding Lynn’s writing career, and like last time she responded and helped me. Lynn could choose not to respond to me or anyone else who mentions her on social media. But she does and I love her and appreciate her for it so much and so does everyone else.

Lynn inspires me because she creates and writes these amazing books that people enjoy to read and that help them. She used her education and her skills in writing to do this and still teaches classes as a psychology professor at a university. She teaches and helps people both through her books and things she teaches. She incorporated her love of fandom, her hobbies, and her skills and made these wonderful, extraordinary, fabulous books. Not only does she write amazing and fantastic books and teaches, but Lynn also live tweets the panels at the convention that she goes to. She travels to the cons, takes pictures of the guests, and tweets what they say. Because of Lynn doing this, it allows people who can’t attend the conventions to feel like their actually there and hear the answers to the questions and the stories being told. It may not be the same experience as actually being at the conventions themselves, but it is still an experience.

Lynn inspires me because of what she does for people. She makes them happy, makes them feel heard and listened to. She helps them in so many different ways, whether it’s a small or a big way, she helps them. The money she makes from her books being purchased benefits both Random Acts and Attitudes In Reverse. Both of those charities are amazing and very dear to the Supernatural fandom. She signs books for people at the conventions and takes pictures with them and sometimes chats with them for a bit. All of the things she does for people is so incredibly amazing and is so kind and generous and so inspiring to me.

Lynn is such an amazing, generous, sweet, loving, skilled, friendly, helpful, wonderful, inspiring person. She does amazing things and creates beautiful pieces of work and is one of the people that I look up to. She not only inspires me but many others as well. She motivates me and is a good person and someone who helps me and others as well. And I want to thank her for everything that she does.

If you haven’t already, go check out Lynn’s books and her website https://fangasmthebook.wordpress.com/. They are all amazing and I would definitely recommend reading them, especially if your into fandom and things related to fandoms and Supernatural.
