One Year Blog Anniversary

On this day, exactly one year ago I posted the very first thing ever on my blog; it was a book review for Family Don’t End With Blood by Lynn Zubernis. I chose this book because I have always wanted to make a blog/website type of thing for book reviews and if you know me or have read a few of my posts, then you know than you know that I absolutely love the show Supernatural and the book is about that show. One of the main reasons why I chose to start this blog was because I’ve always had a great interest in writing. When I was younger, the only place to put it was school, but it wasn’t very good then because I was a kid. Then when I got older I started to do fanfiction, more of the “innocent” kind of fanfiction that wasn’t very good. And now I’m here, with my own blog with new things to write about, and hopefully some better writing than before. I think my writing is pretty decent, but there’s always room for improvement.

When I first started my blog I was very unsure of what the hell I was doing. What was I going to write about, when to post them, how long apart do I need between each one but still be consistent, how was this going to work with school and my summer job. A lot of things were up in the air and a lot of things were very new to me. But I was determined to try my best and see how things went. I wasn’t really focused on how many views each post got, though I would look at the count a lot. I was more focused on getting things out there and trying to post a variety of things. It was going pretty well when I first started, and it still is now, there were a few gaps but that’s normal. Some things I did notice when I started off was that I was always looking at things with the perspective of something I call “bloggers mind”. Like if I was watching a movie or reading a book, I would always think “hey, I could make a review about this” and make mental notes in my head about things to write about.

Back in my first couple of months of writing I was doing a lot of reviews and not as many different kind of blog posts. But now I’ve started to branch of, I guess, and I’ve actually got a lot of new things planned out and I am very excited about it. Since I started my blog a few things have happened to me, I have met some new people that are now good friends of mine, I have experienced some new things in my life, and by starting this blog my writing for school has improved a bit and helped me.

I know it’s a bit short but I just wanted to write a little something for my first whole year of blogging and for many more to come. And I want to say thank you, to everyone who reads these and supports me and my writing no matter how bad it can or may be; whether you’ve been here since I first started or just started reading them recently. Thank you…thank you so much, I truly appreciate it and I love you all.
